Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company Media Tek has revealed another processor G80 chipsets are cost-effective gaming smartphones. The Helio G90 chipset launched last year and the more affordable (and lower performance) Helio G70 chip introduced last month. G90 is equipped by Redmi Note 8 Pro and G70 will be provided by the upcoming Realme C3.
“The smartphone gaming market is expanding, and MediaTek’s G series chipsets deliver powerful performance and game-play features that let device makers innovate and cater to consumer gaming demands,” Yenchi Lee, Assistant General Manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Business Unit, said in a statement.
The new chip is built on the 12nm process boasting an octa-core CPU system (2x Cortex-A75 cores @ 2.0GHz alongside 6x Cortex-A55 @ 1.8GHz. Helio G80 chipset operates in 820MHz graphics processor, thus, improving peak performance and guaranteeing a highly responsive user experience.
“The G series chips have an impressive combination of hardware and software to optimize performance, provide superb image quality, smooth game-play and ensure uninterrupted connectivity for dedicated gamers,” added Lee.
This chipset also comes with built-in VoW (voice in wake up) and HyperEngine Game Technology. The VoW will decrease the energy loss of voice assistance services and the HyperEngine provides more constant gaming. It also has another feature called Intelligent Speed Uplift for speedy Gameplay and Calls &user can access data Data Concurrency When the Wi-Fi signal is weak.
Besides, this also enables the option to obey calls when in a game without a packet loss and also have progressive management of CPU, GPU, and memory. The chip supports EMMC 5.1 storage and up to 8GB of LPDDR4X 1800 MHz, RAM as well as up to an FHD+ display at 60 Hz. There’s also support for up to a single 48MP camera or dual 16MP cameras.
