The recent cancellation of MWC due to coronavirus has made smartphone enthusiasts and the tech industry sad, but smartphone launches aren’t going to stop. OnePlus 8 seems to be going in rigorous testing as it is near its launch in a few months.
A listing on GeekBench has shown OnePlus 8 giving out some impressive results. The results could vary depending on prototypes and models, but it does clear a few things.
The smartphone is going to use the Snapdragon 865 the same as the OnePlus 8Pro was spotted using in its eekBench.benchmark, which also means the OnePlus 8 will support 5G.
The phone was also spotted with 8GB RAM, the OnePlus 8 Pro was spotted with 12GB RAM. The OnePlus 8 may be limited to 8GB RAM and its Pro variant having 12GB RAM.
Other specifications aren’t clear, but OnePlus may use the sam Sony IMX686 64-MP sensor as the main camera. OnePlus has been talking about a 120Hz display which we may or may not see in the OnePlus 8, as OnePlus said that it will continue to use a 90Hz screen in 2020 for its phones. We may see the 120Hz display in the Pro model. Poco X2 has started 2020 with 120Hz display which may be the key spec in this year’s flagship smartphones or gaming.
