Samsung will be launching its second smartphone with a foldable display. At the Samsung Developer Conference this week, the company showed off a foldable flip phone form factor. Recently Weibo posted a picture that suggests the company will launch a new foldable phone under its W series, called the Samsung W20 5G, sometime in November.
So, this smartphone will be the successor to the W2019, but unlike the W2019 which offers a traditional keypad flip phone design, the W20 5G will offer a clamshell form factor where a foldable display will cover the total area. It features 2 touchscreens – one display on the outside and one inside, attached with a physical keypad.
Samsung may use the same Infinity Flex Display on the W20 5G which was seen on Galaxy Fold. Earlier this year, there were many issues with the Galaxy Fold which delayed the launch for this smartphone. The Fold is available in India in limited quantities for Rs. 1.65 lakhs.
Samsung usually launches its W-Series in China so we don’t know whether they’ll be launching it globally or not. Both the 2019 Moto Razr and Samsung’s W20 5G are ready to launch in November, but the release date for these smartphones is not known. So, there will be a good competition in the market, so you can expect an announcement from one of them any time now with exciting features.
