Uber plans to ship more than 500K face masks to its drivers and delivery executives throughout the world due to the novel coronavirus. Uber has delivered disinfectant sprays to some drivers last week and now Uber started delivering millions of ear-loop face masks to its drivers across the globe.
Uber drivers and delivery executives are working hard in the time of crisis to deliver proper essential items to people and as their safety is Uber’s concern, Uber is delivering safety stuff to the active workers.
On Tuesday, Uber shipped the first consignment to the New York city drivers. More than a half million of masks order is placed by Uber and Uber will ship the same in coming days to the hardest hit cities of the US.
Uber has also ordered around ten millions face masks for other cities around the world and they are expected to deliver in coming weeks. Uber has also donated N95 masks to local hospitals.
Uber marketplace is halted due to the lockdown around the globe but there is a rise in its food delivery business and as drivers have to work, Uber is constantly working towards their safety.
Uber has also added a dedicated COVID-19 button to its driver’s app so that drivers will remain up to date about the virus. Uber also announced 10 million free rides to healthcare workers, seniors, and people in need across the world.
