Zuckerberg’s emails leaked: Bought Instagram to knock- down an entrant

In the very recent days, the text conversations via emails between Mark Zuckerberg and David Ebersman got leaked and made the intentions behind buying Instagram very clear.

And it wasn’t very tough for the people to figure out that the sole reason to buy Instagram was to cut- down a competitor from the market.

At the present date, it isn’t obscure that today’s youth uses Instagram as the most preferable social media platform. When Facebook bought Instagram in 2012, Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg had a feeling that in the coming days the number of users on Instagram may surpass the number of users on Facebook.

The emails that recently got leaked contains a very clear conversation between the CEO and the CFO of Facebook. In the published emails, Mark Zuckerberg (CEO- Facebook) wrote clearly to David Ebersman (CFO- Facebook) that buying Instagram is a very planned move in the market of social media to eliminate a major competitor.

Also, it was a tough job for an organization to get access to the email of such a high profile person. Thus, the emails got leaked during the House Antitrust subcommittee’s hearing. The above mentioned Committee argued on the basis of these emails and several other messages that Facebook’s CEO wanted to acquire Instagram and a few more social media platforms just to knock down a very fair competition.
