Xiaomi, the budget king of Indian market has outshone all other companies in past years. But its model Redmi Y series was not a big hit. Redmi Y1 and Y2 didn’t make any good in market. Now Xiaomi has came up with the Redmi Y3 with features and price good enough to compete in the Indian market. Xiaomi will launch Y3 on 30th April, at a expected price of Rs.9999 for the 3GB/32GB variant of Redmi Y3.
Will this phone may regain the lost fame for Y-series? Is this the new budget performer for youth?
The build and design of Y3 is attractive, one look on it will surely grab your attention. The almost same gradient finish and water-drop notch as on most Xiaomi devices this year.Xiaomi’s fancily calling this the Aura prism design but there isn’t anything here which we haven’t seen before. It sports a 6.26 inches IPS screen with 720×1520 px resolution. It comes with Gorilla Glass-5 for screen protection.
It comes with Snapdragon 632 SoC, 14nm processing technology with clock speed of 1.8 GhZ coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and 3/4 GB RAM for better performances. It comes with 32GB/64GB internal storage and can be extended to 512GB. Redmi Y3 managed to score 101496 on Antutu which is good score for such a budget phone.
The rear camera performance of Y3 is decent enough in most lighting conditions. It performs exceptionally well in selfie mode with it’s 32 MP shooter. The front camera has EIS and portrait mode.
The MIUI 10 brings a smooth experience with software but it annoying to find that it may show ads. The phone runs all day with it’s massive 4000 mAh battery and a micro-USB port for charging.
