WhatsApp’s chief external expert WABetaInfo found evidence that voice and video calls are set to come to WhatsApp Web. According to the report in WABetaInfo, the feature is currently under development and will be made available by the Facebook-owned messaging platform in a future build. WhatsApp Web will start beta testing of voice and video calls as v2.2043.7 rolls out in the next few weeks. This might make WhatsApp a great alternative to Zoom and Google Duo for group video calls.
Reports have suggested that a window will pop-up when a user receives a call. The window will be a small “incoming call” window with options to accept, decline, or ignore the incoming call. When in a call, you’ll have a floating window showing the current connection status with an end call button and extra options such as mic muting. Stay Tuned for further updates on WhatsApp
