After the launch of Redmi K30 5G, the Xiaomi sub-brand is now planning to launch a lite variant of this smartphone which will be more affordable called the Redmi K30i. This phone will be marketed as the most affordable 5G phone in the company’s portfolio. It will feature the same specifications as that of Redmi K30, but the major change will be in the primary camera sensor. Also, some news claims that this phone might launch in international markets.
According to the ITHome, a tweet by Xiaomishka (@xiaomishka) and other posts on Weibo claims that this lite version of Redmi K30 5G will be called as Redmi K30i. This phone will feature the same specifications as that of Redmi K30, but the Redmi K30i will feature a 48-megapixel main camera, instead of the 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor packed inside the Redmi K30. Also, there is no news about whether K30i will use a Sony sensor or a Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM-series sensor.
The price of Redmi K30i is expected to be CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 19,500) and they might launch later this month, whereas the retail price of Redmi K30 5G is set as CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 21,600) for the base variant. Some other posts on Weibo claimed that they might launch more 5G phone in June and November, which is expected to set at a price of CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs. 17,400) and CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,900) respectively, which will add up in Redmi Note 9 series.
