Microsoft to Mine Cryptocurrencey From Body Activity Data

Recently Microsoft has filed a patent that they are working on an algorithm that would use brain waves to mine cryptocurrency with proof-of-work.

Cryptocurrencies are virtual or digital currency that is used as a medium of exchange. Since cryptocurrency mining is a processor-heavy task that requires a lot of processing power and computers with top configuration.

Microsoft patent suggests a process to mine cryptocurrency with the body activity data that would eliminate the need for specialized hardware.

MINING CRYPTO WHILE WATCHING ADS

The patent is dubbed as “Cryptocurrency System Using Body Activity Data” where users will be encouraged with some task and the brain wave or the heat emitted by the users can be used to mine cryptocurrency that would eliminate the heavy computation power.

Also as per the patent, Microsoft has planned various sensors such as thermal sensors, heart rate sensors, fMRI scanners, NIRS sensors, EEG sensors, and cameras to measure the heat generated by the users.

Instead of massive computation work required by some conventional cryptocurrency systems, data generated based on the body activity of the user can be a proof-of-work, and therefore a user can solve the computationally difficult problem unconsciously,

Microsoft told in their patent

The sensors will detect brain waves such as beta and gamma waves that would be related to the subconscious part that is related to the learning, memory and logical thinking, and alpha waves.

However, Microsoft hasn’t stated that the new technology will be based on the blockchain method or the company will create its own framework.
