Yes, you heard that right, Amazon will soon start using drones to deliver packages in just 30 minutes. The drone would start shipping packages within months, starting with the US. So let’s find out more about this.
Amazon on Wednesday unveiled its latest and Next-Gen Prime Air drone that can fly up to 24 km and deliver packages under 2.5 kg to customers in less than 30 minutes, which is a top notch news for frequent online shoppers like me who uses Amazon and trusts on the company.
Jeff Wilke (CEO of Amazon Worldwide Consumer), told that “with the help of our world-class fulfillment and delivery network, we expect to scale Prime Air both quickly and efficiently, delivering packages via drone to customers within months,” at the ” Re: Mars” event.
Jeff Wilke also told that “it is efficient and aerodynamic – like an airplane. It also easily transitions between these two modes – from vertical-mode to airplane mode, and back to vertical mode,” which means that the drone has hybrid design. It can perform vertical landing and vertical takeoff like that of a helicopter.
Amazon will start shipping packages via drones in America within few months which will take only 30 minutes to deliver packages. Let’s see when Amazon will start these services worldwide and launch these facilities in India.
Questions still arises when Amazon will launch it’s drone delivery in India, what will be additional cost for shipping and delivery charges, and who all can avail this service (Prime users, Non-prime users, or both). Stay tuned with us for future updates and leave your views in the comment section below and let me know what do you think about this drone delivery.
