TikTok-owner Bytedance launches its first smartphone

Bytedance, owner of popular app TikTok, launches its first smartphone under the Brand name Smartisan. However, it is not a full TikTok Phone as expected by public, yet it comprises some features of TikTok. The new smartphone is called ‘Jianguo Pro 3’. Bytedance has collaborated with Chinese phonemaker Smartisan where the owner has gained Prestige along with patents as well as employees.

The new smartphone is available in three configurations and colour options in China at CNY 2,899, that is, Rs 29,200. Jianguo Pro 3 comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It also comes with the same 8GB but extended storage of 256GB worth CNY 3,199 or Rs 32,100. Both these variants will be available in Black and White colours. There is also a Greenish Matsutake variant with a price tag of Rs 36,000 — 12GB RAM & 256GB Storage.
Except China, there is no data about it’s availability in rest of the World.

Users will be able to launch Douyin directly from the lockscreen where they just have to swipe up the lock screen. Douyin is the Chinese version of TikTok. The Smartphone also allows to apply TikTok’s special effects and filters to videos of any length.

As far as specifications are concerned, the smartphone accomodate a 20MP front camera for selfies. Jianguo Pro 3 covers a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display screen. It has a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855+SoC processor and is supplied by a 4,000mAh battery. It comes with four rear cameras and selfie lightning feature. There is a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, 13MP wide-angle lens and an 8MP telephoto lens at the rear.

Also, Dimensions are 156.6 x 74.38 x 7.8mm and it weighs about 185 grams. Jianguo Pro 3 has inclusion of Android-based Smartisan OS 7. Its connectivity features include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB Type-C port. It supports Quick Charge 4+ (18W) fast charging technology.
