The key technology used in making in-screen finger scanner is an optical fingerprint scanner which is embedded in the phone’s display screen.Some finger scanners use CMOS Chip called Clear ID Sensor for better quality scanning.
When the User places it’s finger on the screen the Scanner illuminates the finger by use of light emitting diodes.A CCD Camera inside the screen captures an image of the finger .It rejects the image if image is not rendered properly and retakes picture.It now matches the image with a set of pre-existing Images.
One major difference of In-Display Finger Scanner is that it cannot detect pulses.However a major advantage of it over other sensors are that it can detect fingerprints of both wet,dry and cold fingers.
