Qualcomm Confirms The Announcement of Snapdragon 875 Chipset

There were a number of rumors going around, regarding the announcement of the Snapdragon 875 chipset is on December 1, 2020. Well, the rumors are true as Qualcomm has confirmed. The company will be organizing the Qualcomm Tech Summit and has started sending out invites. Due to the current pandemic situation, it will be a virtual event. The company will have a two-day event and will not be following the three-day schedule. The rumors stated that the invite mail sent by Qualcomm has mentioned ‘premium-tier mobile performance’. This shows the company is talking about the new chipset that they are launching.

As per the reports, Samsung will be manufacturing the chipset. According to the rumors, the production began way back in June.

The people have high expectations for the upcoming Snapdragon 875. The rumors claim it to be faster, more power-efficient, and powerful than the existing ones from the brand. The Snapdragon 875 processor may even have a lite version. But it can only be confirmed at the launch event.

Snapdragon 875 will be based on the 5nm manufacturing process. This makes Qualcomm’s first processor based on the same. The chipset will have 1+3+4 core architecture for its internals as it always has with the previous ones. It will also comprise of new Kryo 685 cores built on ARM v8 Cortex Technology.

The prime core will supposedly be a custom. Qualcomm will employ Snapdragon X60 Modem. They will handle the 5G connectivity. Furthermore, rather than having an overlooked Cortex-A78, it will have a stronger Cortex-X1. One can also find The Adreno 660 GPU on the chipset. Lastly, the chipset will be packed with Snapdragon Sensor Core, an upgraded DSO, Spectra 580 ISP, etc.
