The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched a free WI-Fi facility in moving Metro Trains on the Airport Express Line.
This is the first time Delhi Metro is contributing WiFi services in running trains. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s MD Mangu Singh make public the free Wi-Fi facility at Shivaji Stadium Metro Station and also travel from New Delhi to Dwarka Sec-21. With this, India matches with countries like Russia, South Korea, and China to launch the Wi-Fi facility in the metro trains.
“This is for the first time in India that the free Wi-Fi facility on moving Metro Trains has been launched. Delhi Metro currently provides a Wi-Fi facility at many of its major stations, including those on yellow and blue lines.”

The picture shows the speed of Wi-Fi is 88.43 mbps per second, which is an incredible speed of moving trains. To obtain the Wi-Fi facility, the passenger has to log in on the “METROWIFI_FREE” network and enter the phone number and an OTP will be sent to the mobile number. Once the login is successful, you can enjoy the free Wi-Fi service during the journey. It has 2 Mbps speed and usage is limitless.
DMRC is tied up with Techno Sat Communications to provide free Wi-Fi facility at metro stations. The largest Metro Network also plans to include free Wi-Fi in metro coaches of other passages shortly.
Dr. Mangu Singh, said, “Internet connectivity is very important. Although we have WiFi in stations and now this seamless, continuous connectivity is a significant step. It is challenging, especially because providing WiFi in a moving vehicle is very difficult.”
Since the launch of the Free Wi-Fi service in 2016, Delhi Metro has started free high-speed over 50 stations.
