The New Delhi based E-commerce company Snap Deal has crossed 10 crore downloads in Google Play Store.
The e-commerce platform observed this growth after giving more attention to “Bharat “enhancing user experience and introducing engaging activities on its app. In addition to that Snapdeal highlights SDTV which has thousands of tiny product videos of popular merchandise. Daily Visits Recorder, Spin the Wheel, Timer-based challenges, Scratch Cards, etc. are unlocked every day on the Snapdeal app also the main reason to attract users.
In October 2019, the monthly traffic to Snapdeal crossed 240 million visits, recording an all-time high for the platform. It witnessed a 52 percent increase in order during Diwali Season which began on September 29 and continued for eight days till October 6.
90 percent of orders came from tier 2 cities. SnapDeal said the increase in volumes from smaller cities like Nagpur, Surat, Vijayawada, Chandigarh, Panaji, Jamshedpur, Shimla, and Guwahati arose as the latest e-commerce hotspots, with orders expanding at least four times than previous years.
As per September 2019, Snapdeal with its 848 million visits in the last 12 months is the third-largest e-commerce platform in India following Amazon and Flipkart. Chinese E-commerce, Club Factory is ranked fourth in the Indian market, with 29 million visits. The list is accompanied by ShopClues at 8.27 million visits, Tata Cliq at 7.65 million visits and Paytm Mall at 5.62 million visits.
Snapdeal founded in 2010 had 3,00,000 sellers, over 3 crores products across 800+ diverse categories from over 1,25,000 regional, national, and international brands and retailers and a reach of 6,000 towns and cities across the country. In the last two years, Snapdeal added 60000 plus new sellers who have added five crore listing.
In 2016 there were rumors about merging Snapdeal with either Flipkart or Amazon but the deal collapsed. This lead to Snapdeal’s founders deciding to continue running Snapdeal as an independent company with a new concept called Snapdeal 2.0.
