For the past couple of years, ESports in India changing in the Indian startup ecosystem. Earlier there was the only tiny number of Fantasy Sports Startup in India, which has increased more than 50 fantasy sports platforms in India at present. According to All India Gaming Federation (AIGF) estimates that the user base of fantasy gaming platforms passed 300 million Indians in 2019
However, the popularity of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the card games have given a result to new Fantasy Sports in the country in the past two to three years. Nearly 75% of the market is occupied by online and mobile gaming platforms. By 2021 Online gaming, as a segment, is estimated to be a $1.1 billion opportunity according to Google-KPMG. By then, India is expected to have more than 628 Mn gamers. Since the arrival of Reliance Jio’s 4G, gaming startups have grown 11x times than before 2016. Mumbai-based fantasy gaming startup Dream11 is the first unicorn ESports startup with a valuation of $1.1 billion.

Tencent-backed Dream11 has a market share of almost 90 percent, with a user base of over 55 million. Founded in 2012 by Harsh Jain and Bhavit Sheth, Dream11 offers its users fantasy gaming in categories such as cricket, football, kabaddi, and National Basketball Association (NBA)
Mobile Premier League (MPL)
Bengaluru-based Mobile Premier League (MPL) was founded in 2017 by former founders of Creo(which was acquired by Hike)Srinivas Kiran Garimella and Shubham Malhotra is suddenly rose in India’s fantasy sports market.MPL has crossed 10 million downloads in play store apps since its launch. Team India captain Virat Kohli is currently the brand ambassador of MPL in a deal reportedly valued at Rs 12 crore.
BalleBaazi
BalleBaazi is operated under the division of Baazigames was founded in 2018 by Saurabh Chopra. It is a Cricket Fantasy Sports have monthly one million users, claims the company. The startup has just secured a $1 million funding from its parent company, Baazi Games
Other than these fantasy sports, platforms like HalaPlay, My11Circle, MyTeam11, Fanmojo, Faboom, LivePools, and many others are providing fantasy gaming trends.
