As we all know the ongoing lockdown in India or rather be lockdown 2.0 has been extended till 3rd May 2020, Earlier this week Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi mentioned some services may be allowed to operate after 20th April 2020 depending upon the COVID status in the respective place.
These relaxations will now allow people to order non-essential items from online retailers such as Amazon & Flipkart, as now they’ll deliver items from 20th April.
Flipkart rolled out a statement and said they’re now preparing and contacting the sellers for COVID safe delivery.
As a marketplace e-commerce player, we at Flipkart believe that it is our responsibility to enable sellers and the MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) community to bounce back and responsibly facilitate economic activity. Therefore, we are working with lakhs of sellers, small businesses and artisans across India and helping them prepare their business and workforce to make products available for consumers in this time of need as they continue to stay indoors. Our seller support team is providing constant counsel and on-ground support to sellers on our platform to help them resume operations in a few days.

We are now focused on supporting the immediate need of consumers and also participating in the resumption of economic activity post the Ministry of Home Affairs notification. We are working closely with all our partners – brands, manufacturers, sellers, small businesses and local shops – helping them to offer the most needed products to customers. While we will increase the selection that customers can safely shop from their homes, we will also continue to ensure the safety of our delivery associates and our teams at our facilities.
