Nubia has been making some very good gaming phones recently, and it has also been teasing its Red Magic 5G. We have got quite a few leaks, and also a few from Co-founder and President of Nubia.
The display on the Nubia Red Magic 5G is going to be a 144Hzdisplay, the highest on any phone. The refresh rate of the phone was revealed some time back, but now the Co-founder and President of Nubia, Ni Fei, has announced that the Red Magic 5G will come with a whopping 16GB of LPDDR5 Ram.
The Geekbench 4 listing of Nubia Red Magic shows two variants — One having 8 GB RAM and another having 12 GB RAM. In single-core, the 8 GB RAM variant scored 4308 and the 12 GB RAM scored 4333. In multi-core, the former one scored 13537 while the latter one scored 13489.
Ni Fei’s post also confirmed the processor which is going to be the Snapdragon 865 SoC, and 5G functionality will be facilitated by Qualcomm’s X55 modem. The OS is going to be Android 10 with Redmagic OS v3.0.
There are no updates on the battery capacity, as Nubia seems to be experimenting on different combinations of faster charging or higher capacity. I would prefer a higher capacity battery on a gaming phone. The battery configuration would be any from the following;
- 100W + 4,000mAh
- 55W + 4,500mAh
- 30W + 5,000mAh
There is no information on pricing and availability of the Nubia Red Magic 5G yet.
