Apple is reportedly working on developing its own foldable iPhone. According to some reports, the first iPhone can come in 2022. If we look into the Foldable Smartphone market, it is at outset condition. Samsung, Motorola, Huawei are among those few companies who are having foldable devices. Also, Apple may enter this market by 2022.
Earlier in February, Apple patented a new hinge design that can fold the flexible display without any crease or fold. The hinge contains some movable flaps which will help in preventing the display from creases.
According to Money.udn.com a Taiwanese media firm, Apple is in talks with Taiwanese companies like Hon Hai and Nippon Nippon. Hon Hai is expected for the assembly of foldable iPhones. Also, The new Nikko can be the main supplier for hinges/bearings.

According to reports, Apple is currently testing the durability of the hinges and displays for foldable iPhone. Apple may use OLED or MicroLED display panels for its first foldable iPhone. Additionally, Apple will depend upon Samsung for the display panels.
However, these dates are not fixed and these are expectations according to leaks.
