The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) last week rejected the proposal of Flipkart, an Indian e-commerce company, to sell food products through online platforms, as the company’s application did not fit into the current FDI guidelines. DPIIT confirmed this news when it sent a letter to the company stating the rejection of their manifesto.
On Monday, Walmart owned Flipkart announced that it would surely re-apply for a food retail license in our country.
