The single greatest dominator of the social networking scene now has its own take on gaming, mobile gaming to be precise.
It’s no wonder that Twitch and YouTube’s gaming communities have been on a rampant growth for quite some time now, the gaming scene is becoming more prevalent across the globe. While the gaming communities of Twitch and Youtube focus mostly on PC gaming, Facebook gaming’s prime focus will be on the mobile gaming market. While the app will obviously provide a feature for live-streaming gaming sessions that Facebook is calling Go Live, it will also contain some casual games and access to gaming communities.
Times New York recently reported the following about the app:
The app has currently launched only on android and will soon receive an iOS release. While the app was originally set to launch in June, seeing the conditions brought about by the lockdown caused by the Global Pandemic, Facebook saw fit to bring this release forward to facilitate better digital socialization in these times of physical social distancing.
Facebook gaming may act as a game-changer for the mobile gaming scene and help consolidate the mobile gaming community further, not to mention that success of this attempt may help some free to play mobile games to ascend to the level of e-sports.
“There are a lot of people who listen to music and say, ‘I can imagine myself being a musician’. People are watching streams and they’re like, ‘I want to be a streamer’, and with Go Live it’s literally just a few clicks and then live, you’re a streamer”.
Facebook’s head of gaming Vivek Sharma
Currently the app will not contain advertisements and Facebook will earn money taking a cut from the donations made to the content creators by their viewers.
