Vodafone Group plc is a British multinational telecommunications company whereas Idea is India’s leading telecom service provider. Before the Jio telecom that came leading and a great competitor. As per the latest and recent news, these both collaborated and formed a VI-Vodaphone Idea.
Vodafone Idea, now VI, is renewing its focus after the AGR verdict a few days ago. It’s going to challenge both the telecom giant industry Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. But there could be tariff hikes along the way for prepaid and postpaid users, as VI looks to increase ARPU.
RE-BRANDING “VI”:
Telecom major Vodafone-Idea has transformed its brand identity. After a teaser campaign on Twitter, on Monday it unveiled “VI”. Its new look, two years after the UK-based Vodafone and India’s own Idea merged their operations.

Vodafone-Idea’s new brand identity signals a determination to survive after last year’s AGR court ruling clouded its future. It’s not just cosmetic. After two years of the Vodafone and Idea merger that took place on August 31, 2018. The new Vi brand emphasizes the final stage of the integration.

The new branding is updated on the website & also in its app. This will make its way to all products including SIM cards, bills, billboards, and more. Ravinder Takkar, MD and CEO at Vodafone Idea Limited, said Takkar added that Vi not only marks the completion of the largest telecom merger in the world but its a journey to bring “world-class digital experience” to 1 billion Indians on 4G network. The deployment of many principles of 5G architecture has helped the brand become a “future-fit, digital network” for the new customers.
While Vodafone has remained focused on the urban regions, the tier-I towns.
