After the recent increase of up to 40% in prices of your monthly plans, Jio still states that it offers 25% better value then it’s competitors. Only three big companies remain of which, Airtel removed FUP charges from it’s plans after the price hike and launched three new plans. Following Airtel’s footsteps and to counter Reliance Jio Vodafone Idea has also removed it’s FUP limit on calling
FUP means fair usage policy. It is made for the small amount of people who use phone excessively and exhaust their calling limit, causing a loss on the telecom operator as they have to pay outgoing charges. But it also is a factor of relief for people who don’t use calling much, but can count on the point that even if by chance they exhaust their limit they won’t be charged. Both companies state that they made this based on the review of their subscribers.
Reliance Jio states that it’s customer have adequate calling limit before their other charges kick in. Airtel with it’s 280 million subscribers, Vodafone Idea with it’s 311 million subscribers and Reliance Jio with it’s 355 million subscribers are all trying to get their rivals subscribers for themselves.
