Segway-Ninebot Comes with an AI-enabled Self-driving Scooter

Finally, the problem of charging electric scooters every night to have them on work is solved. Segway-Ninebot, a Chinese firm has come up with a new self-driving scooter, the KickScooter T60 at an event in Beijing.

In a report of Reuters, The self-driving scooter has three wheels (two in front, one in back), and it is believed to use artificial intelligence and remote cloud capabilities to guide itself without a human rider.

According to experts, the self-driving scooter can be a boon to the on-going online vehicle booking market as not only it will help to create jobs but as well as fewer efforts.

Formed back in 2015 combination of China’s Ninebot and U.S. transportation pioneer Segway, the company has quietly become the largest supplier for scooter-sharing companies.

The pain point for scooter operators is to better maintain the scooters at a lower cost

Gao Lufeng, Ninebot chairman and chief executive, told Reuters.

Ninebot claimed that Uber, which has expanded into the bike- and scooter-driving, has expressed interest in the new self-driving scooter but still it is not confirmed by any Uber Authority as their spokesperson declined to comment upon the new AI-enabled scooter. In a report from The Verge, Uber is rumored to be interested in developing self-riding bikes and scooters.
